How to Clean Fabric Blinds So They Last and Look Great
Have you been putting off cleaning your window blinds because you feel it’s too much work? If this is the case, you can follow some of these efficient and practical tips to clean your fabric blinds so that they look spotlessly clean for a long time.
If you are planning on moving out and feel like your fabric blinds need more deep cleaning, you can hire a professional end of lease cleaning Hobart to help you clean out your blinds thoroughly.
Whether you need deep cleaning or just a regular washing, here are some ways you can make sure your fabric blinds are always clean:
Warm water
Microfiber cloth
Vacuum with a soft brush
Dishwashing liquid
Baking soda
Sponge
You first need to determine what kind of fabric blind you have. If you have vertical Roman shades, you can start by closing the blinds and then dusting them with a microfiber cloth from top to bottom.
If you have horizontal fabric blinds, you can move from the top row to the bottom so that all the dust gets cleaned thoroughly.
You can then use a vacuum with a soft brush and low suction power to clean out any remaining dust on all the panels.
Next, flip the blinds on the other side and clean them in the same way from top to bottom. You should also vacuum the fabric on the blinds to eliminate all the dust and dirt.
If you have pleated fabric blinds, you should first close them and detach them from your windows.
Next, lay them down, vacuum one side of the blind, and then flip them over to vacuum the other side to get rid of all the dirt.
Make sure you move from top to bottom so that no dust accumulates at the end.
If you have a stain on a pleated or Roman fabric blind, you must first mix dish soap with water.
Next, dip a microfiber cloth in this mixture and wring it out.
When the microfiber cloth is damp, use it to blot the stain continuously until it comes off.
Finish by wiping it with a clean damp cloth and then let it dry.
If the stain is more challenging and heavier; you should first mix dish soap with one teaspoon of baking soda and water.
Next, dip a microfiber cloth in this mixture and keep dabbing at the stain and then wipe it with a clean cloth and let it dry to remove all stains.
Before placing them in the bathtub, you must first vacuum the blinds to make sure all the dust comes out.
Next, put some soap in your bathtub and fill it with water.
Close your fabric blinds and then immerse them in water to get rid of all the dirt slowly.
Please keep them in the tub for an hour and then wipe each panel with a sponge or cloth to remove all dirty spots and stains.
Once you have cleaned all the panels, take the blinds out of the tub and let them dry for 2-3 days so that they are completely clean and dry. This is one of the fantastic deep cleaning hacks recommended by expert cleaners.
Also note that some fabric panels can only be dry cleaned, so check the label before you put these fabric blinds in water.
